Meet Our Staff

Pastor
Rev. Leo Ahanotu
Fr. Leo Ahanotu was born and raised in Nigeria. He was inspired by Irish missionaries and Nigerian priests of the Holy Ghost Congregation during his Catholic education. After earning a scholarship to Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, he returned to Nigeria to enter the seminary and was ordained on July 17, 1994, at his home parish, St. Patrick's.

His ministry began in Papua New Guinea and Australia before a 2001 invitation brought him to the Diocese of Tulsa, where he found a deep connection with the clergy and laity. He was incardinated into the diocese in 2016.

Fr. Leo is deeply devoted to Our Lady, Saint Patrick, and the Popes Leo I and IV. Fr. Leo also holds diplomas in theology, philosophy, education, and pastoral psychology. He enjoys tennis, reading, writing, conversation over a good cup of coffee and cultural exchange. However, he finds his greatest joy in priestly service.

Reflection on his vocation, Fr. Leo humbly admits, "It's a mystery." Quoting Archbishop Fulton Sheen: "If I know why I became a priest, it probably means I called myself." He emphasizes prayer and service, guided by Philippians 1:21 and the belief that "Leadership is service, not a position."
